Oregon quarterback Dante Moore practiced Monday for the first time since his concussion against USC, but coach Dan Lanning stopped short of clearing him for Saturday’s UCLA game.
Moore sustained the concussion after being stretchered off the field during Oregon’s win over USC, following a hit from Trojans linebacker Desman Stephens II, who was suspended for the play. Monday’s practice appearance marked Moore’s return to team activities, but his availability for the UCLA matchup remains unresolved.
What Oregon Said About Dante Moore’s Status
Lanning said Moore, in full pads and helmet, was “out there at practice for us today,” according to CBS Sports. “It was great to see him back out there with his teammates getting to work today,” Lanning said, per Sports Illustrated.
The Big Ten requires injury reports four times before conference games, beginning three days out. The first report is due Wednesday night and will provide clarity on Moore’s availability for the Saturday matchup.
Who Replaces Moore If He Can’t Play
Dylan Raiola is expected to start if Moore is unavailable. The backup completed 76% of his passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns in relief against USC.
Moore’s Role This Season
Moore is Oregon’s starting quarterback and a key part of the Ducks’ offense this season. His absence would hand the offense to Raiola.
