This policy applies to Total Apex Sports, Total Apex Entertainment, Total Apex Herald and totalapexmedia.com, all published by Total Apex Media LLC. It explains the standards our writers and editors follow so readers know what to expect from us.
Our mission
We publish accurate, timely and useful content that helps readers understand sports, entertainment and the news. We value depth over volume and clarity over clickbait.
Accuracy and fact-checking
- Writers verify facts, names, dates, statistics and quotes before publication, using primary sources wherever possible: official league and team releases, court and government records, company statements, and on-the-record interviews.
- Statistics are attributed to their source. Injury, transaction and breaking news reports are attributed to the outlet or official who first reported them until independently confirmed.
- Every article is reviewed by an editor before or promptly after publication. Breaking stories are updated as facts are confirmed, and significant updates are noted in the article.
Sourcing
- We name our sources whenever possible. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is newsworthy, cannot be obtained on the record, and the source’s reliability has been assessed by an editor. We explain why anonymity was granted.
- We link to original reporting and credit other outlets when we build on their work.
- We do not publish rumors as fact. Content in categories such as “Rumors & Leaks” is clearly labeled and explains how reliable the source is.
Distinguishing news, analysis and opinion
News reports aim to be fair and neutral. Analysis, predictions, rankings, reviews, betting picks and opinion pieces reflect the informed judgment of the author and are labeled or framed so readers can tell the difference.
Independence and ethics
- Editorial decisions are made by our editors, not by advertisers, sponsors, sportsbooks, studios, teams or other outside parties.
- Staff and contributors disclose conflicts of interest, such as a financial stake, business relationship or personal connection to a subject, and are reassigned when a conflict could affect coverage.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for coverage. Sponsored content, if published, is clearly labeled as sponsored.
- Products, games or screeners provided for review are disclosed in the review and do not guarantee positive coverage.
- We treat the people we cover fairly, give them a reasonable opportunity to respond to serious allegations, and take care when covering minors, victims, health and personal tragedy.
Bylines and authorship
Articles carry the byline of the person responsible for them. Author pages describe each writer’s background and areas of expertise. Content produced by our staff collectively may carry a staff byline.
Use of AI tools
Our content is written and edited by people. Writers may use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, for tasks such as research assistance, transcription, grammar checks or data formatting. Any such use is reviewed by a human editor, and the writer remains fully responsible for accuracy. We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, statistics or images presented as real. If AI materially contributes to a piece, we disclose it.
Sports betting and fantasy content
Betting and fantasy content is for entertainment and informational purposes. Picks and predictions are opinions, not guarantees. We encourage responsible gambling and only discuss legal, regulated betting. See our Disclosures for affiliate relationships and responsible gaming resources.
Headlines, images and aggregation
Headlines must accurately reflect the article. Images are credited and used with permission or under license. On totalapexmedia.com, headlines, short teasers and images are displayed from our own network sites and always link to the original article; we do not republish full articles.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and transparently. Our process is described in our Corrections Policy.
Feedback
We welcome feedback on our coverage. Contact us with questions about this policy or any article.
