StatMuse-style — answers the exact questionWhy did the Bucks trade Giannis Antetokounmpo?
Milwaukee sent him and Bobby Portis to Miami in a June 2026 blockbuster for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakučionis and draft capital, pivoting after missing the 2026 playoffs and losing Damian Lillard to an Achilles injury.
Who is the Bucks' head coach for 2026-27?
Taylor Jenkins, hired April 30, 2026, after Doc Rivers resigned.
How many NBA titles have the Bucks won?
Two — in 1971 (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson) and 2021 (Giannis Antetokounmpo).

The complete story
The Milwaukee Bucks entered the NBA as an expansion team in 1968 and won a championship in just their third season, 1971, behind Hall of Famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson, then lost the 1974 Finals to Boston. After decades without a title, Giannis Antetokounmpo — drafted in 2013 and twice named MVP — led Milwaukee to its second championship in 2021, beating Phoenix in six games. The Bucks have played at Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee since 2018, having moved from the Bradley Center. That championship core unraveled after Damian Lillard tore his Achilles tendon in the 2025 playoffs; Milwaukee waived Lillard via the stretch provision in July 2026 and, in a franchise-altering trade days earlier, sent Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to Miami for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakučionis and multiple future first-round picks. Owners Wesley Edens and Jimmy Haslam enter 2026-27 under new head coach Taylor Jenkins following Doc Rivers' April 2026 resignation.
