Well, folks, it finally happened. After years of backyard battles, driveway duels, and Thanksgiving trash talk, the Curry brothers are officially teaming up. In a move that feels like it was cooked up in a lab for pure basketball poetry, Seth Curry has signed a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, joining his older brother, Stephen.
Let’s just pause for a second and appreciate this. It’s like seeing Batman and Robin finally share a Batmobile after only working in separate cities. For the first time in their NBA careers, the sons of Dell Curry will share the same jersey, and it’s happening in the Bay Area. Warriors fans, you’ve just been handed a storyline that writes itself.
The Curry Brothers Unite In Golden State
This isn’t just a sentimental signing or a cute family reunion. Seth Curry can flat-out shoot the basketball. While Steph gets the headlines for, you know, changing the entire sport, Seth has quietly carved out a career as one of the league’s most lethal sharpshooters. He is a career 43% three-point shooter, a number that would make most players weep with joy.
Last season with the Hornets, the 35-year-old journeyman put up a modest 6.5 points per game, but don’t let the numbers fool you. Putting him on the floor with Steph and Jimmy Butler is just unfair. Who do you guard? It is a defensive nightmare that feels like a practical joke from Head Coach Steve Kerr. You can just picture the chaos now: defenses scrambling, hands flying, and a Curry, either one, casually draining a three from another zip code.
A Journeyman’s Path To a Family Reunion
While Stephen Curry has been the face of a dynasty, Seth’s path has been the polar opposite. He is the gritty underdog who went undrafted, played in the G League, and bounced around nine different NBA teams. It is a testament to his sheer persistence. He even had a brief preseason stint with the Warriors back in 2013 before being waived. Talk about a full-circle moment. Now, he’s back, not as a training camp body, but as a key piece for a team with championship aspirations.
The signing comes right after the Warriors settled the contract drama with Jonathan Kuminga, freeing them up to make moves. And what a move it is. Forget the X’s and O’s for a minute and just think about the human element. The sibling rivalry is now a partnership. The pre-game shootarounds are about to become must-see TV. Get your popcorn ready. The Curry show in Golden State just added a second headliner, and the 2025-26 season just got a whole lot more interesting.
