Shubladze Jingshan final: bold, strong 7-5, 6-4 win

Shubladze Jingshan final is set after the sixth seed beat Emerson Jones 7-5, 6-4 in the semifinals and will face top seed Bouzas Maneiro.

Alexandra Shubladze set up a Shubladze Jingshan final against top seed Jessica Bouzas Maneiro by beating Emerson Jones 7-5, 6-4 in the semifinals of the Jingshan Tennis Open on Saturday. The sixth-seeded Russian won in 1 hour, 40 minutes at the WTA 125 event in China, according to Tennis Majors.

How Shubladze beat Jones in the semifinal

Shubladze, 20, took the first set 7-5 and closed out the second 6-4 against the third-seeded Australian. She won 74 of 141 points, Tennis Majors reported.

Jones struggled with her serve. She committed five double faults, compared with none for Shubladze, and converted 4 of 9 break-point chances.

Shubladze Jingshan final: the path to Sunday

Shubladze reached the semifinals with a come-from-behind win over Wei Sijia. She lost the first set in a tiebreaker before winning 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-2 on Friday.

Jones’ run in Jingshan ended in the semifinals.

Bouzas Maneiro, from Spain, reached the final by beating Aliona Falei 6-3, 6-3, Tennis Majors reported.
