A recent study showed that the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks were named two of the best NBA teams for tourists. FlashPicks, a betting picks, parlays, predictions, and news brand, analyzed all 30 of the NBA teams on various factors. The factors were tickets, food and drinks, parking prices, distances to nearby train stations, crime rates in local areas, TripAdvisor reviews, Google searches, and Instagram hashtag data, to demonstrate an NBA team’s prestige — or lack thereof. All 30 NBA teams were ranked using 11 different factors for a total score of 100.
Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks’ Rankings
FlashPicks’ study was great news for the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks, as both NBA teams ranked in the top five. The Rockets ranked second with a total score of 67 out of 100. The Rockets’ average ticket price is just $26.37 — one of the most affordable in the NBA. A group of four would only spend $105.48. The parking at Toyota Center is just $19.09 compared to the national average of $38.96. The crime rate in Houston, Texas, is just 40.32 offenses per 1,000 people. It’s safe for attendees to walk 0.9 miles to Toyota Center.
The Mavericks trailed the Rockets coming in fourth place with an overall score of 65.7 out of 100. American Airlines Center, an arena with a 58.9% “excellent” rating on TripAdvisor, is conveniently located just 0.1 miles from Victory Station. Attendees — including tourists — can easily travel to and from the American Airlines Center. There are also 138 bars within a mile of the American Airlines Center for pre and post-game drinks.

Madison Square Garden achieved the top score for public transportation, with Penn Station located underneath the arena. Madison Square Garden has the most bars within a mile, with 240 to choose from. The Knicks achieved the best score for Instagram hashtags, with a whopping 841,000 posts on the platform and a 67% “excellent” rating on TripAdvisor.
