The road to Wrestlemania has begun! This year, the fan-favorite Royal Rumble Premium Live Event was highly anticipated. Only one woman would win, and she would go on to headline the granddaddy of them all, Wrestlemania. Of course, there would be plenty of surprises and returns! Women from the main roster, NXT, and TNA would fill out the 30 superstars entering the match. Charlotte Flair was able to enter at number 27 and win her second Royal Rumble event. Flair became the first woman to win the event twice! Who did you think would win? What was your favorite moment?
Charlotte Flair Wins 2nd Rumble
Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan entered one and two in the Women’s Royal Rumble and lasted most of the match. There were plenty of surprises during the match, including Alexa Bliss’ return after being out of action due to her pregnancy. The biggest pop of the Rumble may have been the return of Nikki Bella at number 30. Jordynn Grace made her WWE debut from the TNA roster. The ring filled up until Nia Jax entered and eliminated six competitors at once. Charlotte made her anticipated debut after being advertised at number 27. Roxanne Perez lasted until the final two in what was probably the biggest surprise of the match.
Charlotte eliminated Nia Jax and then Roxanne Perez to go on and win her 2nd Royal Rumble. She will headline Wrestlemania against one of the two champions, Rhea Ripley or Tiffany Stratton. It seems like the Queen will probably renew her rival with Mami, but it could be interesting if she goes after Statton. Flair should be appearing this week on Raw and Smackdown to cut a promo against both champions before she decides.
Final Thoughts
By no surprise, Charlotte Flair won her second Royal Rumble. They have had vignettes leading up to the event for the past few weeks. Doesn’t the WWE Universe deserve someone different? Charlotte Flair has been shoved down the fan’s throats for years now! She is a 13-time champion. How many times do we have to see her vs. Rhea Ripley? And why did we get the vignettes first?
This almost took any surprise or shock out of the match. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Royal Rumble match, but knowing the winner basically before the match starts takes the fun out of it. Thank God for the side-betting aspect of the Rumble to keep it interesting. Absolutely no one was shocked by Flair winning!
