WWE SmackDown Results: Chaos in Italy, Shocking Returns, and the Ultimate Heat-Magnet Advances
WWE took its traveling circus to Bologna, Italy, for the June 5, 2026, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, and to say the European crowd was treated to absolute madness would be a massive understatement. Between legal threats from an angry Ring General, an actual electrocution backstage, and the ongoing soap opera that is the Judgment Day, Smackdown delivered a show that felt less like a wrestling program and more like a fever dream.
If you missed the Smackdown broadcast on USA Network (or Netflix, depending on where your IP address is located), we have you covered. Here is the breakdown of exactly what happened, who advanced in the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, and who got blasted by an electrical socket.
The Ring General Wants His Lawyer
SmackDown skipped the usual fancy video packages and went straight to a very angry Gunther demolishing the announcer desks. Apparently, losing to Cody Rhodes at Clash in Italy didn’t sit well with him, mostly because his foot was allegedly under the bottom rope during the pin.
Cody Rhodes walked out to offer a rematch because Cody is a nice guy who likes to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship every three days. Naturally, Sami Zayn had to interrupt to complain that both of them had wronged him. Gunther told Zayn to shut up, Zayn reminded Gunther that he had beaten him for a title before, and a massive three-way brawl broke out.
The highlight? Cody attempted a dive to the outside, Gunther sidestepped like a matador, and Cody accidentally wiped out his good buddy Sami. Cody tried to offer a handshake afterward, but Sami walked away. Friendship is dead, wrestling is volatile, and Gunther is threatening to sue Nick Aldis. Classic Friday night.
The Queen of the Ring Bracket Moves Forward
The women’s division took center stage on Smackdown with a high-stakes Fatal 4-Way match to kick off the Queen of the Ring tournament.
Raquel Rodriguez def. Bayley, Kiana James, and Jacy Jayne
This match was a chaotic sprint, but the real story happened on the outside. Kiana James thought Giulia cost her the match, leading to a complete breakdown of their alliance. While those two were busy screaming at each other, Raquel Rodriguez capitalised, hitting Kiana with a devastating Tijuana Bomb to secure the pinfall and advance. Post-match, Giulia completely snapped and laid Kiana out. Rest in peace to that partnership.
Jade Cargill & Michin def. Charlotte Flair & Tiffany Stratton
Later in the night, the tag team division got a makeshift upgrade. After Rhea Ripley noted she was too banged up from Jade Cargill’s beating last week to compete, Nick Aldis threw together a chaotic tag match.
Charlotte and Tiffany Stratton have about as much chemistry as oil and vinegar, and it showed. Despite some flashy offense from the self-proclaimed Center of the Universe, Jade Cargill countered Stratton’s signature senton into a thunderous Jaded for the pin.
Danhausen Kills The Miz (Legitimately?)
In what has to be the most bizarre backstage Smackdown segment of the year, The Miz was seen wandering around looking for Danhausen’s secret laboratory while on a FaceTime call with Kit Wilson.
Miz started tearing up the place and grabbed a loose wire. In a moment straight out of a 1990s cartoon, The Miz electrocuted himself and collapsed to the floor, completely motionless. Danhausen simply walked into the frame, grabbed a snack, and casually looked down at the former WWE Champion’s body. No word yet on whether Miz has a pulse, but his career might be short-circuited.
Mid-Card Mayhem and a Master’s Return
The middle of Smackdown featured some quick matches to keep the crowd roaring, along with a massive backstage teaser.
- Talla Tonga def. Royce Keys: A bruising encounter that ended exactly how you think it did—Solo Sikoa provided a distraction, allowing Tonga to deliver a Chokeslam for the win. R-Truth tried to save Keys from a post-match beating, but Damian Priest stopped him.
- Ricky Saints def. Carmelo Hayes: An absolute thriller of a match that ended in the most heel way possible. Saints grabbed a handful of tights during a roll-up to steal one from Melo.
- Lash Legend def. Chelsea Green: Without Tiffany Stratton in her corner, Chelsea succumbed to the Lash Extension in a relatively short scouting match.
Backstage, Sami Zayn was seen trying to find Johnny Gargano to vent about his issues with Cody Rhodes. Instead, he found Nick Aldis, who told him to stay out of the world title picture. As Sami walked away, none other than Chad Gable walked into Aldis’ office. The Master is officially back on SmackDown.
Live Morgan Hands Dirty Dom the Crown
The main event was a Fatal 4-Way King of the Ring opening-round match that brought the house down, featuring Damian Priest, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, and Dominik Mysterio.
Dominik Mysterio def. Damian Priest, Bron Breakker, and Trick Williams
This match was pure adrenaline, with Breakker turning people into chalk with spears and Trick Williams lighting up the arena. It looked like Damian Priest had the match completely won, but the referee got distracted.
Out of nowhere, Liv Morgan materialized at ringside and delivered a brutal low blow to Priest. Dominik, being the opportunistic cockroach that he is, capitalized instantly. He hit a 619, followed it up with a Frog Splash, and stole the victory.
Dominik Mysterio is moving on in the King of the Ring tournament, Liv Morgan is still pulling the strings, and the Unipol Arena showered the building in a chorus of boos.
