Packers Outlook

Green Bay has won four of its last five, including a 27-19 win over Carolina on Oct. 30 in which Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes. Love has completed 192 of 312 passes for 2,246 yards with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions this season, giving Green Bay the NFL’s most productive passing attack by yardage among the two teams at 280.8 yards per game.

The running game has been a different story. Green Bay averages just 60.6 rushing yards per game and 2.9 yards per carry, the lowest marks in this matchup. MarShawn Lloyd leads the backfield with 149 yards on 57 carries but is listed as questionable with a knee injury. The Packers’ turnover margin of plus-4, built on a league-leading pace of 15 takeaways through eight games, has helped offset the lack of a ground game.

Green Bay’s offensive line is banged up entering Sunday. Guards Sean Rhyan and Aaron Banks and tackle Travis Glover are all listed as questionable, with Rhyan’s return date pushed to Nov. 25. Receiver Christian Watson, who has 42 catches for 708 yards and six touchdowns, is questionable with a rib fracture.

The Packers’ defensive front has also been thin; defensive end Micah Parsons has been listed as out in recent weeks, though he is set to return to practice according to the team. Defensive tackle Jordon Riley has also been listed as out.

Patriots Outlook

New England has won four of its last five games, most recently a 24-19 win at Miami on Nov. 1. The lone loss in that stretch came at Chicago, 30-24, on Oct. 23. Drake Maye has thrown for 1,983 yards with 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions, and the Patriots lead this matchup in scoring at 23.0 points per game and rushing at 123.1 yards per game behind Rhamondre Stevenson, who has 367 yards on 96 carries.

New England’s red zone offense has been efficient, converting 86.36% of trips into points, well above Green Bay’s 72.41% mark. The flip side is turnover margin: the Patriots sit at minus-7 on the season with 15 giveaways against just eight takeaways, the widest gap in this matchup.

New England’s injury report is extensive. Wide receiver A.J. Brown (knee), tight end Hunter Henry (foot), running back TreVeyon Henderson (illness), safety Brenden Schooler (hamstring) and cornerback Marcus Jones (foot) are all listed as questionable. If several of those players are held out, New England’s receiving corps would lean more heavily on DeMario Douglas, who has 26 catches for 332 yards and four touchdowns.

Key Matchup

Green Bay’s pass defense against New England’s banged-up receiving corps could decide the game. The Packers have forced 15 takeaways through eight games, well ahead of New England’s eight, and their secondary will face a Patriots passing attack that may be without Brown and Henry, its top two pass-catching threats by role. If both are out or limited, Maye would need Douglas and the running game to carry a larger share of the offense.

On the other side, New England’s run defense faces a Packers rushing attack averaging just 2.9 yards per carry, the weakest clip in this game. If Lloyd is limited by his knee injury, Green Bay may lean even more on Love, who already carries 312 pass attempts this season, the most of any player in the matchup.

Players To Watch

Jordan Love, QB, Packers

Love has thrown 16 touchdowns against six interceptions and leads a Packers passing offense averaging 280.8 yards per game, the top mark between the two teams.

Drake Maye, QB, Patriots

Maye has passed for 1,983 yards and 15 touchdowns this season and will be tasked with managing a passing attack that could be missing A.J. Brown and Hunter Henry.

Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots

Stevenson has rushed for 367 yards on 96 carries and gives New England a rushing advantage over a Packers run defense facing a Green Bay offense that averages under 61 rushing yards per game of its own.

What To Watch

Green Bay sits three games back of Minnesota in the NFC North, while New England trails Buffalo by one game in the AFC East. A Packers win would move them to 6-3 and keep divisional pressure on the Vikings, while a Patriots win would pull New England within a half-game of the division lead depending on other results. Both teams’ injury reports, particularly New England’s at receiver and tight end and Green Bay’s along the offensive line, are likely to shape how each offense operates on Sunday.
