Micah Parsons is set to return to practice with the Green Bay Packers this week, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Monday. The All-Pro edge rusher suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in Week 15 of last season and has not played in 2026.

Parsons rejoins a Packers defense that has carried Green Bay to a 5-2 record without him. LaFleur did not say when Parsons might be cleared to play in a game, only that the plan calls for him to practice this week.

What The Team Said About Parsons’ Status

LaFleur confirmed the Packers intend to bring Parsons back onto the practice field this week. The team has not attached a target date for his game debut. Green Bay sits in the NFC playoff picture and a wide-open NFC North race.

How Green Bay Has Managed Without Him

The Packers have not needed to rush Parsons back to stay competitive. Green Bay’s defense ranks ninth in total defense, 11th in points allowed and fifth in defensive EPA per play this season. The pass rush has held up as well, with the Packers’ 22 sacks ranking fourth in the league. Lukas Van Ness leads the team with 4.5 sacks, and three other players have recorded at least two sacks apiece.

Parsons’ Production Before The Injury

Before the injury, Parsons recorded 56 tackles, 12.5 sacks and a forced fumble across 14 games, numbers that reflect his impact for the Packers.

What’s Next For Parsons And The Packers

The Packers will monitor how Parsons responds to practice reps before clearing him for game action. More updates are expected as the week progresses.
