Packers QB Jordan Love Emerging as Dark Horse MVP Candidate for 2026 Season

Jordan Love is having a child. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have made it clear they believe they are in a Super Bowl window, and if they are going to take the next step, quarterback Jordan Love will need to be at the center of it.

Love is coming off one of the best seasons of his career and is beginning to generate serious buzz heading into the 2026 campaign. Most recently, sports personality Kay Adams named the Packers signal-caller her top dark horse candidate for the NFL MVP award, adding even more excitement to what could be a pivotal season in Green Bay.

While Love is not among the betting favorites, the ingredients are in place for him to make a legitimate run at the league’s most prestigious individual award.

One of the biggest reasons for optimism surrounding Love is the talent that surrounds him. The Packers enter the season with one of the more intriguing groups of pass catchers in the NFL. Christian Watson is coming off the most productive stretch of his career, while former first-round pick Matthew Golden appears poised for a breakout campaign after showing flashes as a rookie.

Jayden Reed also returns after injuries limited him for much of last season. When healthy, Reed has proven to be one of Green Bay’s most dynamic offensive weapons, capable of making plays both as a receiver and runner.

The player who may have the biggest impact, however, is tight end Tucker Kraft. Before suffering a torn ACL last season, Kraft was emerging as one of the league’s top tight ends. His combination of size, athleticism, and red-zone production gives Love another reliable target capable of creating mismatches across the field.

Matt LaFleur Could Hold the Key to Love’s MVP Chances

Love’s individual success may ultimately come down to how aggressive head coach Matt LaFleur is willing to be offensively.

There were stretches last season when Green Bay’s offense looked nearly unstoppable through the air. During those moments, Love showcased his arm talent, decision-making, and ability to attack defenses at every level of the field.

However, there were also times when the offense became more conservative, limiting opportunities for explosive plays and allowing defenses to dictate the tempo.

If LaFleur leans into the passing game more consistently, Love could see a significant jump in both production and national recognition.

Packers Success Could Fuel Jordan Love’s MVP Campaign

Winning remains one of the biggest factors in the MVP conversation, and the Packers are expected to be among the top contenders in the NFC.

Love finished last season completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. Those numbers were impressive, but another step forward statistically combined with double-digit wins could quickly place him in the MVP discussion.

The talent is there. The supporting cast is in place. If everything comes together, Jordan Love could go from dark horse candidate to one of the NFL’s biggest MVP storylines in 2026.
