The Minnesota Vikings and Linebacker Eric Wilson agreed on a contract Friday. The exact terms of the deal are unknown at the time of publication. Wilson is coming off a solid year with the Green Bay Packers. He had 72 total tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 interception.
Wilson is familiar with the Vikings as he played for the franchise from 2017-2020. The best season of his career came in 2020 with Minnesota. He has 399 career tackles, 11 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 5 interceptions. Will Wilson have a solid season in 2025 with the Minnesota Vikings?
Minnesota Vikings Offseason Outlook
Coming off a great regular season that ended with a dud, Minnesota has had an active offseason. Minnesota is retaining key players from last season’s team including Running Back Aaron Jones, Safety Harrison Smith, and Cornerback Byron Murphy. Minnesota also signed Defensive Tackle Javon Hargrave, Defensive Tackle Jonathan Allen, and Safety Theo Jackson.
While Minnesota has had a solid offseason, they have not addressed the quarterback position. Sam Darnold signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Daniel Jones is now a member of the Indianapolis Colts. A few options for the team at the position are J.J. McCarthy or a veteran. The team has been linked to Aaron Rodgers at times this offseason.
Final Thoughts
Wilson is another solid signing for the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. They have bolstered their team on both sides of the ball. The only question remaining for the team is whom they have as their starting quarterback. With many top options already signing, the clock may be nearing midnight for the team.
