Jake Paul Claims NFL Teams Are Interested in Him, Says Pro Football Would Be “Quite Easy”

Jake Paul has never been shy about making bold claims, and his latest comments may be among his biggest yet.

During a recent interview with Front Office Sports, the boxer and social media star revealed that he remains interested in pursuing an NFL career once his time in the ring comes to an end. Even more surprising, Paul claimed there are already NFL teams and coaches interested in giving him an opportunity.

“I have a couple teams and coaches that I’ve talked to that are interested in bringing me on to the team,” Paul said. “It’s really going to be quite easy.”

The comments immediately sparked debate across the sports world.

Jake Paul Believes He Can Play in the NFL

Paul didn’t just say he wants to try football. He went much further.

The 29-year-old argued that he possesses better athletic tools than many current NFL players, specifically targeting wide receivers.

“I think there’s a lot of super-mediocrity in the NFL, a lot of not good athletes,” Paul said. “I have better hands than them, I’m faster than them, I’m stronger than them, I work harder than them.”

According to Paul, the transition wouldn’t be particularly difficult. He believes that after wrapping up his boxing career, all he would need is time to work on route-running before making an NFL roster.

Whether NFL executives agree is another question entirely.

Cleveland Browns Are His Dream Destination

If Paul ever does get his NFL opportunity, he already knows where he’d like to play. The Ohio native said he’d love to join the Cleveland Browns, citing his lifelong connection to the franchise.

“I’d love to go to the Cleveland Browns, been a Browns fan my whole entire life,” Paul said.

He even jokingly called dibs on a jersey number.

“No. 17, reserve the jersey over there right now.”

It’s the type of confidence that has helped build Paul’s brand, but it also adds another layer to an idea many football fans will view with skepticism.

Athleticism Isn’t the Question

To be fair, Paul isn’t your average celebrity talking about playing professional sports.

Since transitioning from influencer to boxer, he has compiled a 12-2 professional record and demonstrated legitimate athletic ability. He’s competed against several notable combat-sports stars and has trained like a professional athlete for years.

At 6-foot-1 and more than 215 pounds during his recent bout against Anthony Joshua, Paul certainly possesses NFL size.

The issue isn’t athleticism.

The issue is football.

The Lack of Experience Is a Massive Hurdle

Paul hasn’t played organized football since high school. His football experience reportedly consists of two varsity seasons at Westlake High School in Ohio more than a decade ago. Since then, his athletic focus has been entirely on boxing and content creation. That’s what makes the NFL dream so difficult.

NFL wide receivers spend years perfecting route-running, learning complex playbooks, reading coverages, and developing timing with quarterbacks. Even elite college receivers often struggle to make the transition to the professional level. Paul would be attempting to do so at age 30 with virtually no recent football experience.

Could an NFL Team Actually Give Him a Shot?

The idea isn’t completely impossible. NFL teams occasionally bring in unconventional athletes for workouts, especially if they possess elite physical traits. However, there is a major difference between receiving a workout and earning a roster spot.

Paul’s fame alone would generate enormous media attention, which could make a tryout appealing from a publicity standpoint.

Actually making an NFL roster, though, would be a completely different challenge. At the moment, there is no public confirmation regarding which teams or coaches have expressed interest.

Bold Claim or Real Opportunity?

Paul has built his career by turning seemingly unrealistic ideas into reality. Many doubted he could become a successful boxer, yet he developed into a legitimate pay-per-view attraction and professional fighter. That’s part of the reason his comments are drawing attention.

Still, an NFL career may be his most ambitious goal yet.

For now, Paul remains focused on boxing. But if his comments are genuine, football could eventually become his next target.

Whether NFL teams truly view him as a potential receiver or simply an intriguing story remains to be seen. Either way, Jake Paul has once again found a way to get the sports world talking.
