Fire At Lambeau Field Quickly Contained By Firefighters

A small fire broke out at Lambeau Field on Tuesday afternoon, prompting a swift response from local fire crews. The incident occurred in the stadium’s third locker room, which was built in 2024 to accommodate non-NFL events.

Quick Response Prevents Major Damage To Lambeau Field

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene around 2:20 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found that the stadium’s sprinkler system had already contained most of the flames. They quickly extinguished the remaining fire using a fire extinguisher. The fire did not spread to other areas of the stadium, and no injuries were reported.

Lt. Shauna Walesh of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department confirmed that the fire was minor and that the cause is currently under investigation. A burned plastic storage bin was observed being removed from the locker room, but further details about the source of the fire have not been disclosed.

A Valuable Safety System

The third locker room, which cost $5 million to construct, is a key part of Lambeau Field’s efforts to host a wider range of events. The stadium’s sprinkler system played a crucial role in minimizing damage and ensuring the safety of the facility.

Investigation Ongoing

While the fire was quickly contained, the Green Bay Fire Marshal’s office is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause. The Packers organization has not yet released a statement regarding the incident.
