The Atlanta Falcons and Cornerback Mike Ford came to terms on a 2-year contract worth $4 million on Wednesday. He is coming off a down season in 2024 with the Cleveland Browns. Ford finished with 13 total tackles in a part-time role. He is no stranger to the Atlanta Falcons. He played for the team in 2022.
Ford’s NFL career has included stints with the Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, Falcons, and Cleveland Browns. He has 112 career tackles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception. Will Ford help bolster Atlanta’s secondary in 2025?
Atlanta Falcons Offseason Outlook
Atlanta has focused this offseason on improving its defense. Signing Ford was the latest example of that. They also signed Linebacker Leonard Floyd and Linebacker Divine Deablo. Atlanta doubling on defense makes sense considering how they handled the 2025 NFL Combine.
Atlanta’s defense struggled in 2024. They were 23rd in total defense. The team has marquee names on defense, but the unit struggled to play well last season. Matthew Judon is a star at the linebacker position and Jessie Bates III is one of the NFL’s best safeties.
Final Thoughts
Ford will look to rebound from an underwhelming 2024 campaign. He has been a solid player throughout his NFL career and will look to help improve a poor Atlanta Falcons defense.
