Milton Williams had a strong Super Bowl performance in Super Bowl LIX and earned a huge contract earlier in the day. We thought he was going to be a Carolina Panthers. It was then confirmed by Adam Schefter he was going to be a New England Patriot. Williams earned an opportunity to be a full-time starter in this league with the performance against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Milton Williams’ 2024 Production
Williams had 7 sacks in the 2024 season including 2 sacks in the Super Bowl with a forced fumble late in that game. He had two forced fumbles on the year as well. Mike Vrabel saw this production and got the Patriots to sign a huge 4-year, $104 million deal with the former Louisiana Tech Prospect. He will fulfill a huge need for the Patriots when it comes to the ability to rush the passer from the three-technique on the defensive line.
The Patriots also added Harold Landry in this free agency period to help this defensive line out. Robert Spillane was added as well for a huge revamp New England has needed for years. Milton Williams’ loss will decently impact the Eagles. As an Eagles fan myself, I am disappointed to see him go, but he deserves the money he got from New England.
Conclusion
Williams will be a strong asset to the Patriots in 2025 and beyond during this 4-year deal. The defense will flourish hugely in 2025 simply by adding him in the grand scheme of things. The Eagles will need to find a replacement for him in either free agency or via the 2025 NFL Draft. Congratulations to Milton Williams and the Patriots for this deal. Total Apex Sports will continue to bring the big updates for the rest of the NFL Free Agency.
