Shubladze vs Bouzas Maneiro ended with Alexandra Shubladze lifting the Jingshan Tennis Open title on Sunday in China. The sixth seed from Russia beat top seed Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain 6-3, 6-2 on Center Court, ESPN’s results show.

It was a clean finish to a week in which Shubladze dropped only one set.

Shubladze won both sets and gave up five games in total. Bouzas Maneiro had been just as sharp coming in. She had not lost a set all week and reached the final with wins of 6-0, 6-2 over Wang Yuhan, 6-2, 6-2 over Sofya Lansere and 6-3, 6-3 over Aliona Falei.

Shubladze played five matches in Jingshan, according to ESPN:

  • Round 1: beat Rina Saigo 7-5, 6-3.
  • Round 2: beat Lu Jia-Jing 6-0, 6-2.
  • Quarterfinal: beat Wei Sijia 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-2. This was her only lost set of the week.
  • Semifinal: beat Emerson Jones 7-5, 6-4.
  • Final: beat Bouzas Maneiro 6-3, 6-2.

What it means
