Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks and Linebacker Ernest Jones IV agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension on Sunday night. The deal is for $33 million and $15 million guaranteed. Jones IV is coming off a solid season for the Seattle Seahawks. He came to the team after being traded from the Tennessee Titans before the NFL Trade Deadline. Jones IV was 13th in the league with 138 total tackles. Will this contract end up working out well for both sides?

Seattle Seahawks Offseason Outlook

It has been a busy few days for the franchise. They released multiple veteran players including veteran Wide Receiver Tyler Lockett. This upheaval led to Wide Receiver DK Metcalf requesting a trade from the team. It was then reported, Metcalf would rescind his trade request if he was happy with the team’s quarterback situation.

Seattle also traded Quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders a few days ago giving the team another hole to fill this offseason. The Seahawks are reportedly looking into multiple veteran quarterbacks to fill the void at QB in 2025. One of the players they will be speaking with is Aaron Rodgers. Other quarterbacks the Seattle Seahawks will be pursuing are Daniel Jones and Sam Darnold.

Final Thoughts

Jones IV brings stability to a Seahawks team that has many questions. Their roster will look much different next season. Jones IV will look to anchor a defense that was mediocre last season. After a tumultuous last few seasons, Jones IV will remain in Seattle for years.
