Bio & Background
Jackson grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida, and didn't become a full-time starter in high school until his junior year. He developed into a dual-threat prospect at Louisville, where he broke out as a sophomore in 2016, won the Heisman Trophy, and became the program's first winner of the award. Baltimore traded up with Philadelphia to take him with the final pick of the first round in the 2018 draft.
He took over as the Ravens' starter midway through his rookie season and never looked back. His first full year as a starter, 2019, produced a unanimous NFL MVP award and a new single-season rushing record for a quarterback. A second MVP followed in 2023, and in 2024 he set career highs across the board while passing Michael Vick as the NFL's all-time leading rusher among quarterbacks. In between, he signed a five-year extension with Baltimore in 2023 that briefly made him the highest-paid player in league history.
As of early October 2026, Jackson is dealing with an ankle sprain that has already cost him one game and has him ruled out for Baltimore's Week 5 matchup against Atlanta.
