Ole Miss Quarterback Jaxson Dart was heavily praised by a longtime NFL scout as he sets his sights on the 2025 NFL Draft. Here is what the scout had to say according to Fox Sports NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, “He’s gonna be a major steal in the draft. Throws the ball down the field as well as anyone, which I realize is kinda this lost skill in today’s game, but that’s what makes him so interesting. Get Dart a couple speed guys and he can really hurt you.”
Dart finished his collegiate career on a high note last night against the Duke Blue Devils. He ended the game 27-of-35 with 404 passing yards and 4 passing touchdowns. Dart has been a solid quarterback for the Ole Miss Rebels during his three seasons under the tutelage of Head Coach Lane Kiffin. The star QB transferred from USC after the 2021 season, and has found his footing with the Rebels. How will Jaxson Dart fare at the next level?
Jaxson Dart’s NFL Prospects
Here’s some fun feedback on Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, from a longtime NFL scout: “He’s gonna be a major steal in the draft. Throws the ball down the field as well as anyone, which I realize is kinda this lost skill in today’s game, but that’s what makes him so interesting. Get…

Dart’s performance against Duke got the football world talking. Fox Sports pundit Emmanuel Acho believes the Ole Miss QB should be a top 10 pick in April’s NFL Draft. He had already declared for the NFL Draft before Thursday’s TaxSlayer Gator Bowl but decided to play in the game. According to Pro Football Focus, he is the 14th-best QB prospect in the upcoming draft. Given the comments by the scout, and the excitement his performance last night generated, the Ole Miss product should expect his draft stock to continue rising over the next three months.
There are many quarterback-needy teams in the NFL the Ole Miss product could fit seamlessly into. Some of those teams are the New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, and New Orleans Saints. The question facing Head Coaches and General Managers regarding Dart is if they believe he could be a franchise QB one day, or if he is destined to be nothing more than a spot starter/backup in the National Football League.
Final Thoughts
Dart’s draft stock is reportedly rising following his performance last night. Each year players rise and fall on a team’s draft boards after all the games are played. If the past 24 hours are any indication, the Ole Miss QB will be a name being heavily talked about from now until April.
