Ohio State played and lost a scrimmage to the University of Cincinnati. The exhibition game was outside, which affected the shooting of the players. The sun was also a factor; it got in the shooters’ eyes and made the scoreboard and the shot clock difficult to see. Even though the conditions affected the game, it was good that college basketball was back.
Both teams had several new players, both freshmen and transfers, and at this early point in the season, both sides substituted liberally. With Xavier and Dayton playing afterward, this outdoor exhibition, where the Cincinnati Open (Lindor Family tennis facility, in Mason, Ohio) is played, was like an Ohio Cup. The winners just need to play. Do you think basketball scrimmages are useful?
