The Ohio State Buckeyes, who had a great win yesterday against Indiana, 19-15, have some bad news brewing. They got a big win, but their quarterback is hurt and is, according to head coach Ryan Day, going to miss several weeks. With the win, the Buckeyes rose to number three in the Associated Press poll. However, this victory could be described as bittersweet. The injury to Sayin sets up a fascinating battle at quarterback.

The bye week is coming at the right time for the Ohio State Buckeyes, who hope the extra time will help their first string quarterback. Julian Sayin was one of three finalists for the Heisman Trophy and there are significant questions about his backup. The Buckeyes could lose, one, or both, of their next two games. When do you think Julian Sayin will be back?

The Ohio State Buckeyes demonstrated yesterday, that sometimes when you win you really lose. They had a great win yesterday in a hard fought game at Indiana. The matchup was a battle of top-five teams, two of the best ones in the Big Ten Conference. Though they got a huge win, their starting quarterback, Julian Sayin was injured and could be out several weeks.

Ranked #3 in Associated Press Poll

One of the big news stories following the victory at Indiana, and all of the chaos in college football, is that Ohio State is now ranked third in the Associaited Press poll. They trail only the undefeated Miami and BYU. The Buckeyes are followed by Notre Dame, Georgia, and Indiana, all of whom lost yeasterday. It is virtually gauranteed that more theams at the top of the poll will lose this year, maybe next week. Ohio State rose to number two in the coaches poll.

The rest of the top ten in the Associated Press Poll are Ole Miss, Texas Tech, UCLA, and Utah. UCLA is interesting. They have a new head coach in Bob Chesney. He has done a wonderful job, taking a team that routinely lost games by fifty points last year to an undeafted high-riser in the polls. This is yet another Big Ten Conference team. Speaking of that conferense, Penn State wanted to hire Cheney. They did not, and hired Matt Campbell instead. They are a disaster.

In Luke Fahey Good Enough?

All of this good news might not matter for the Ohio State Buckeyes. In their hard-fought victory their starting quarterback, Julian Sayin, was injured.

Conclusion: The Bye Week is coming at the Right Time

The Ohio State Buckeyes have a bye next week before traveling to Los Angeles to take on the University of Southern California. They follow up this game by hosting Oregon the next weekend. Neither of these teams are as good as they were predicted to be, especially Oregon, who had to replace both of their coordinators. Neverthess, these will be tough games and Luke Fahey and Tavion St. Clare may not be good enough to lead the Buckeye to victory. It will be fascinating to see what happens.
