Nick Sirianni In Line For a Massive Pay Raise

Eagles head coach is under fire. nick sirianni

Head Coach Nick Sirianni is in line for a massive raise with the Eagles after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles also made history by stopping the Chiefs from the first three-peat of the Super Bowl era. The Eagles defeated the Chiefs in a blowout win 40-22.

Nick Sirianni Set Up For Massive Contract Extension

Now that the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions, Sirianni is in line for a contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles. He is in his last year of his NFL contract with the Eagles, so he was due for a raise but now with a Super Bowl win he is worth more money. Sirianni makes $7 million per season and is one of the lowest-paid coaches in the NFL. He signed a five-year, $35 million deal in January 2021 that will expire after the 2025 season.

Sirianni is 48-20 in the regular season over his four years with the Eagles. He has also led the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl in two of the past three years. Philadelphia Eagles Owner Jeffrey Lurie told reporters the head coach’s “future is going to be great.” Teams typically do not like their head coaches to enter the last year of a contract. ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggests that the Super Bowl LIX win the contract “would be worth millions.”

The Philadelphia Eagles went 14-2 and secured the No. 2 seed in the NFC this season and blew out all the teams the played in the playoffs. In the coach of the year voting, Sirianni tied for 11th place. The Eagles made big moves this past offseason to get free agent Running Back Saquon Barkley from the New York Giants. This catapulted them to go far in the playoffs and win the Super Bowl.

This offseason Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles will plan to sit down and get a deal done. Teams do not like having coaches linger in the last year of a contract. But how much does Sirianni deserve? He has no doubt turned around the Eagles franchise by being dominant on both sides of the ball. There are estimates that since recently hired Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson received $13 million, Sirianni should receive around $14-$15 million or more now that he is a Super Bowl-winning coach.

Philadelphia’s Future

The Philadelphia Eagles season ended on a high note by winning the Super Bowl LIX. Now it is time for the Eagles ownership and Sirianni to sit down and talk contract extension. The head coach has every right to argue his case on how much he is worth. He will walk away a rich man with a Super Bowl and two Super Bowl appearances in the last three years.

Sirianni is one of the most underrated coaches in the NFL and does not get much credit. However, he has turned around the Eagles franchise since Doug Pederson was fired after the 2020 season after five seasons with the Eagles.
