Michigan vs Bowling Green ended 4-3 Saturday in Bowling Green, Ohio, as the No. 2 Wolverines erased a 2-0 deficit to complete a weekend sweep. Michigan scored three times in the second period and held on despite being outshot 41-30.

Michigan vs Bowling Green: how the comeback unfolded

Bowling Green led 2-0 after the first period at Slater Family Ice Arena. Michigan answered with three goals in the second to go up 3-2. Each team scored once in the third, and Perron’s goal was the winner, according to the Michigan athletics recap.

Jayden Perron scored twice, added two assists and got the game-winner in the third period, so he finished with four points. Michael Hage had a goal and three assists, and defenseman Drew Schock had a goal and an assist.

Jack Ivankovic kept Michigan in front with 38 saves on 41 shots. Michigan went 0 for 5 on the power play, while Bowling Green converted one of its five chances.

Naurato earns win No. 100

The Michigan vs Bowling Green win was the 100th of Brandon Naurato’s career as Michigan’s head coach, per the school. It also finished a sweep of the two-game series.

Michigan opened the season Friday with a 7-2 win at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, the school’s season-opener report said. Hage had two goals and an assist in that game, and Perron had a goal and two assists. Ivankovic made 29 saves on 31 shots. Landon DuPont had two assists in his collegiate debut, and Michigan outshot Bowling Green 42-31.

The Saturday game was much closer. Michigan won the faceoff battle 39-26, but Bowling Green had the shot edge, 41-30, per the school.

What’s next for Michigan

The Michigan vs Bowling Green sweep sends the Wolverines home 2-0. Michigan hosts Alaska Anchorage on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at Yost Ice Arena. The Wolverines will want a better night on the power play after going 0 for 5.
