Longtime NFL broadcaster Cris Collinsworth had high praise for former Missouri Tigers Wide Receiver Luther Burden III with the 2025 NFL Draft a week away. Here is what Collinsworth had to say about the prospect: “I think Luther Burden is a guy that is going to take the league by storm.
Burden III had 61 receptions, 676 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns in 2024. While that was a solid year, he took the nation by storm in 2023. He finished ninth in the country in receiving yards and 16th in receptions. Which team will draft him next week?

He is the No. 5 receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft class and the No. 47 overall prospect according to ESPN. He is viewed as an elite YAC threat and can be lethal on deep throws in the National Football League. Many teams would be improved if they were to draft Burden III next week.
The Denver Broncos would benefit by adding this player to its roster in 2025. Denver seemingly found its franchise Quarterback, Bo Nix, in the first round of last year’s draft. Now, the team must surround the young quarterback with a top-flight weapon. Burden III would fit that bill. The Houston Texans would also be a solid fit for the young receiver. The Texans lost Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs in free agency and Wide Receivers Tank Dell and Nico Collins are often injured. Burden III would provide a cheap insurance policy for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
Final Thoughts
Even though Burden III has fallen down draft boards in recent months, he should still make an immediate impact in the National Football League. He will look to prove Collinsworth correct by becoming one of the league’s best players at the position.
