The Linus Ullmark injury concern interrupted Ottawa’s 4-1 win in Boston on Monday. Coach Travis Green said the Senators removed their starting goalie as a precaution after a collision late in the second period.
Linus Ullmark injury: Ottawa awaits another evaluation
Boston forward JJ Peterka collided with Ullmark on a rush after being tripped. Ullmark finished the period, but Samuel Ersson replaced him for the final 20 minutes.
Green said Ullmark felt something was wrong and would be evaluated again, according to Sportsnet’s postgame report. The coach did not identify a specific injury or confirm when Ullmark would next play.
Ersson finishes the Senators’ win
Ullmark stopped all 10 shots he faced and later returned to Ottawa’s bench. Ersson made eight saves in relief as the Senators improved to 2-0-0.
The victory followed Ottawa’s season-opening win over Toronto. Read more about the Senators’ defensive core in our Jake Sanderson coverage.
