The Colts have ruled out wide receiver Keenan Allen for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders in London because of a groin injury. The Keenan Allen injury designation was changed from questionable to out Saturday, according to Draft Sharks. Kickoff at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is 9:30 a.m. EDT on NFL Network.
Keenan Allen injury timeline
Allen was a limited participant in practice Thursday and sat out Friday, which led to the questionable tag he carried into the weekend. He is dealing with a groin issue and was also listed with rest on the report.
Allen has 13 receptions for 100 yards and one touchdown this season. He caught six of nine targets for 63 yards and his first score of the year in the Colts’ 19-17 win over Houston last week.
Who steps up for the Colts
Alec Pierce is already on injured reserve, so the Colts are thin at receiver. Josh Downs, Darius Slayton, Laquon Treadwell, Ashton Dulin and Deion Burks are the receivers available. Tight end Tyler Warren and Downs should see the biggest share of targets, Draft Sharks projected.
Dulin was questionable with an ankle injury but practiced fully Thursday and Friday, according to Yahoo Sports.
Commanders also shorthanded
Washington will be without quarterback Jayden Daniels, who dislocated his elbow, so Marcus Mariota will start. Running back Rachaad White, guard Sam Cosmi and safety Nick Cross also are out. Read more on Daniels’ elbow injury and our Colts vs. Commanders Week 4 preview.
The Keenan Allen injury leaves Indianapolis relying on its depth in a matchup between teams that both entered Week 4 at 1-2.
