Buffalo Bills superstar Quarterback Josh Allen just got rich quickly according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Allen just signed a 6-year, $330 million extension that includes $250 million guaranteed. This makes Allen the highest-paid player in the league and the 2024 MVP is looking to bring a Super Bowl to Buffalo. This deal keeps him in upstate New York for the next half-decade. He just got engaged to one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood, Hailee Steinfeld. He now has a lot of bread to go along with it.
Josh Allen’s 2024 Season
Allen is coming off winning the 2024 MVP award with the following stat line: 3,731 yards passing, 28 passing touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He also had 531 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills in 2024. The Bills were one game away again from the Promised Land but ran into the Patrick Mahomes problem once again. They were one drive away from the AFC crown but fell short by a yard.
He is looking to improve his playoff results as he has finally earned the accolades and now has the contract to account for him getting that MVP award. The only question this contract creates for the Bills is the cap situation. It might get complicated to fill out the rest of the roster around Allen throughout the contract. But Brandon Beane is one of the best general managers in the league so I have faith that the Bills will get the roster right around Allen to have them ready to beat the juggernaut that is Kansas City.
Conclusion
To make this contract worth it for the Bills, the Lombardi Trophy will have to come to Orchard Park within this window. Otherwise, this becomes one of the most overpaid contracts ever after an MVP season we have ever witnessed. The potential is there for the Bills but now is the time to act on it.
