Golden State Warriors Point Guard Stephen Curry made history last night at home against the Detroit Pistons. He hit a three-pointer with 8:32 remaining in the third quarter which etched his name into the history books. It was his 25,000th career point.
Curry became one of only 10 players to score 25,000 points with one franchise. He joined other all-time greats like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Tim Duncan. Curry was also the 26th player to reach 25,000 points. It has been another great regular season for the four-time NBA champion. He is 15th in the league in points per game and assists. Will he continue playing well for a Golden State Warriors team as hot as anyone in the league?

Golden State is 36-28 and the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. The team turned around its season when they acquired Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat before the NBA Trade Deadline. Butler and Curry are 11-1 together this season. Golden State’s offense has been far better since Butler came to town. They are 15th in points scored, 26th in field goal percentage, and 15th in three-point percentage.
Golden State’s defense has been their calling card this season. They are ninth in points allowed, 11th in opposing field goal percentage, and 16th in opposing three-point percentage. The Warriors are playing as well as any team in the league. If they can keep it up, no one will want to face them come playoff time.
Final Thoughts
Curry and the Golden State Warriors return to the court tomorrow night when the Portland Trail Blazers come to town. Curry will look to continue climbing the all-time points leaderboard as the Warriors eye a deep playoff run.
