Golden State Warriors Point Guard Stephen Curry Continues To Dominate the New York Knicks

Golden State Warriors

Golden State Warriors Point Guard Stephen Curry had another night to remember at Madison Square Garden. He had 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists as the Warriors outlasted the New York Knicks 114-102 last night. Curry has been at home at MSG as he is 12-1 at “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” He is averaging 26.2 points per game and has five made three-pointers per game at the venue. The last time Curry lost on the road at MSG was February 27, 2013. He played all 48 minutes and scored 54 points.

Curry has been great against the New York Knicks with a 20-6 overall record. Curry had this to say following Tuesday night’s game, “You only get 1 time a year in here. The energy’s amazing. Basketball history.” Curry is putting together another solid regular season. He is 17th in the league in points per game and 13th in assists. Curry has also played much better as of late. That will bode well for the Golden State Warriors over the final 20 games of the regular season. Will Curry be able to keep up his level of play?

Golden State Warriors Season Summary

Golden State’s turnaround has coincided with the acquisition of Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. Even though he has not played well with the Warriors, Butler’s presence has led to great success on the hardwood. The trio of Curry-Butler-Draymond Green are 9-1 thus far. Golden State’s solid stretch has them as the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference.

Even with much better play as of late, Golden State’s offense has been mediocre. They are 16th in points per game, 25th in field goal percentage, and 15th in three-point percentage. The Golden State Warriors have been paced by their defense this season. They are eighth in points allowed, 11th in field goal percentage, and 15th in opposing three-point percentage.

Final Thoughts

Curry and the Warriors finish their road trip tomorrow night against the Brooklyn Nets. The star point guard will look to continue playing well as Golden State seeks to remain out of the NBA Play-In Tournament. Curry will have another chance to throttle the New York Knicks on March 15 when New York hits the road.
