Florida State wide receiver Duce Robinson will miss the rest of the 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported. The injury occurred during the Seminoles’ 36-24 loss to Clemson on Saturday, when Robinson left the game in the second quarter and did not return.

Robinson was evaluated in the injury tent before being ruled out for the remainder of the Clemson game. The diagnosis confirms what had been an uncertain situation in the hours after Florida State’s loss, which dropped the Seminoles to 3-5 and extended their losing streak to three games.

What The Team Said

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell addressed Robinson’s injury status shortly after the Clemson game, before the full diagnosis was known. “I don’t have much information on Duce. I just know that at halftime he got checked out and knew that he wouldn’t be back in the game,” Norvell said. “There will be a process as we get into next week and see exactly where that is.”

The torn ACL diagnosis, reported by Thamel, closes the book on Robinson’s 2026 campaign. The senior wide receiver chose to return to Florida State this fall rather than enter the 2026 NFL Draft after a breakout 2025 season.

Who Replaces Robinson

Florida State now turns to a thinned-out receiving corps to fill the void. Micahi Danzy, Jayvan Boggs and Jasen Lopez are expected to carry the bulk of the receiving load going forward. Freshman Devin Carter returned to action against Clemson, and sophomore Tae’Shaun Gelsey has earned a growing share of snaps in recent weeks.

The losses go beyond Robinson. Florida State is also without Ousmane Kromah and Samuel Singleton Jr., meaning the Seminoles have lost their top three playmakers at receiver. Singleton is unlikely to suit up again this fall, according to the report.

Robinson’s Season And Career Numbers

Robinson finishes his 2026 season with 24 catches for 438 yards and four touchdowns, an average of 54.8 yards per game that marked a steep drop from the 90.1 yards per game he posted in 2025. He still delivered big performances when healthy, including a six-catch, 135-yard, one-touchdown outing against Alabama and a 100-plus-yard game against Miami.

Those numbers came a year after Robinson earned First-Team All-ACC honors in 2025, when he caught 56 passes for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns. He posted seven separate 100-yard games during his time at Florida State, including a career-high five catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns in a 77-3 win over East Texas A&M on Sept. 6, 2025. Before transferring to Florida State, Robinson caught 39 passes for 747 yards and seven touchdowns over two seasons.

Robinson has the option to return to Florida State in 2027 for a fifth and final year of eligibility if his recovery progresses well. Should he instead turn pro, he will be unable to participate in the pre-draft process this cycle.

What’s Next

The Seminoles will need their reshaped receiving corps to produce immediately as they try to snap a three-game losing skid without their top three pass catchers.
