According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, six-time All-Pro WR Davante Adams signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday evening. The move won’t be officially processed until the new league year on Wednesday, but this is a huge signing for the Rams. The contract is worth $46 million with $26 million guaranteed for Adams. The Rams are revamping their receiver core and looking to move on from Cooper Kupp. Adams is a huge potential upgrade for Sean McVay and the Rams.
Davante Adams 2024 Production
Adams had 85 catches for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns in 2024 with the Raiders and Jets in 14 games. He had some strong moments in 2024 as he finally got his wish to reunite with his long-time Quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the Jets.
He is one of those guys who has changed the landscape of the receiver position throughout his career. At times in his career, he has been one of those players who makes his quarterbacks better wherever he is. This is definitely a strong and impactful move for the Rams.
Adams’ Potential Impact On the Rams
He will be paired up with the stud Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell in a Rams uniform with Matthew Stafford throwing him footballs in a warm weather state and stadium. Yeah, I expect Adams to have a sizable impact on this offense as they look to overcome their recent playoff woes. The team was eyeing a solidified option at the receiver spot because they were not satisfied with the production that former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp gave them at times last season.
Adams will help the Rams as he has still shown to be one of those guys you can count on over the middle of the field. He can also quickly get acclimated in this system as he ran it in Green Bay in Rodgers’ last MVP season in 2021. Look for the star receiver to have a big impact in 2025 with the Rams, if healthy, because of the attention that Nacua will attract in this offense.
