The Dallas Mavericks’ public relations team provided a weather update ahead of Saturday night’s game vs. the Los Angeles Lakers at the American Airlines Center. Read on for the entire update, along with a preview of both the Mavericks and Lakers.

Mavericks Provide Weather Update vs. Lakers

The Mavericks‘ public relations team posted a weather update on Friday afternoon.

The Mavs’ PR team wrote in part, “As North Texas prepares for a winter weather event this weekend, the Dallas Mavericks are closely monitoring the conditions and will take all necessary precautions to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for fans, staff, and players when Dallas hosts the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.”

Mavericks’ Outlook Entering Saturday

The Mavericks are slated to play the Lakers on Saturday. The Mavs have a 19-26 record and are looking to continue their home winning streak. Saturday’s game is set to be competitive, with both teams having strong performances.

The Lakers look to avoid a two-game losing skid, with the help of their red-hot scoring ability, averaging 116 points per game. The Mavs average 114.4 points per game.

Saturday’s game is part of the NBA Rivals Week, with the Mavs and Lakers being budding rivals. The game is projected to be emotional for fans and media alike, as Luka Doncic and the Lakers head to the American Airlines Center for the first time this season. The game is also only the second time that Doncic, 26, has returned as an opponent with the Lakers.

Mavs Forward Naji Marshall urged the Mavs not to focus on the past, per DLLS Mavs’ Ron Harrod Jr.

“I just live in the moment and continue to just do my job, and I know my teammates feel the same way,” Marshall said. “It wasn’t us who got traded or fired, so it’s not really something we should focus on that much. I know you build relationships with those people, you wish the best for them, but like I said, worrying about that stuff, somebody else is doing your job for you.”

Lakers’ Outlook Entering Saturday

The Lakers enter Saturday’s game at the Mavericks with a 26-17 record. The Lakers’ defense in the first half can make or break the final score of the game. The Lakers’ top three goals should be to utilize Doncic’s potential strong performance, stabilize the team’s synergy, and stifle the Mavericks’ defense.
