Omarr Norman-Lott Signs Rookie Deal With Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have locked in another key piece of their defense. Second-round pick Omarr Norman-Lott is officially under contract ahead of training camp.

With the signing, the Chiefs now have their entire 2025 draft class in place. The timing allows the front office and coaching staff to shift focus fully onto camp evaluations.

The Chiefs selected Omarr Norman-Lott with the 63rd overall pick this spring. His signing puts an end to weeks of speculation around guaranteed money for second-rounders. Kansas City’s front office remained patient during the negotiation process. That strategy paid off, as the rookie now arrives ready to compete from Day One.

Norman-Lott played his final two collegiate seasons at the University of Tennessee. He built his draft stock on strong interior pressure and elite burst off the snap. Although he only played limited snaps for the Volunteers, his impact was undeniable. The Chiefs clearly believe those flashes can translate at the professional level.

Omarr Norman-Lott won’t be expected to start as a rookie contributor. Kansas City sees him as a high-upside rotational piece in its interior line group. Chris Jones remains the centerpiece of the Chiefs’ defensive front in 2025. But with his snap count rising yearly, younger depth options are essential.

At just over 290 pounds, Norman-Lott brings agility more than brute strength. He projects best in pass-rush sub-packages, especially on obvious throwing downs. Veterans like Mike Pennel and Charles Omenihu offer flexibility along the line. Norman-Lott will need to earn his spot within a crowded, competitive room.

This deal ensures Omar Norman-Lott can start camp on equal footing with his peers. For a rookie defensive tackle, every rep at this stage is critical developmentally. The Chiefs hope Norman-Lott becomes another draft steal for general manager Brett Veach. If the flashes from college hold true, Kansas City may have found a gem.
