Chicago Bulls Legend Calls For a Reunion After Tragic Passing
Chicago Bulls legend Horace Grant recently called for a Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen reunion in the wake of his former Bulls teammate Stacey King’s tragic passing in June 2026. Grant, 61, also urged Jordan, 63, and Pippen, 60, to end their previous feud following King’s passing.
Grant’s recent call for peace came to light in a rather emotional interview with Online Casino Canada’s Kyle Odegard. Grant initially paused to collect his thoughts, with his eyes welling as he began to formulate his words to Odegard. The 61-year-old previously hosted King, 59, for his upcoming television series, Legends in Session.
Chicago Bulls Legend Urges Fellow Legends To End A Feud
Horace Grant recently urged his fellow Chicago Bulls legends, Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, to end a long-running feud in the wake of fellow teammate Stacey King’s death. Since The Last Dance came out in 2020, there has been a rift, with Pippen reportedly thinking the sports documentary series portrayed Jordan more favorably than it did him.
King wasn’t a high-profile Bulls star during his playing days, but he contributed to the Bulls’ NBA championships from 1991 to 1993. King went on to become a beloved sports broadcaster for the team until his unexpected passing after a fall in his River Forest, Illinois home. River Forest is a suburban village about 12 miles adjacent to Chicago.
King positively said, “It was great to see MJ and Charles (Barkley) reconnect, because they’d been friends forever. I hope and pray that the same thing happens with MJ and Pip. I talk to Scottie two or three times a week. I hope they can get this thing together. I’m 61. Pip is 60. MJ is 63. We’re in the twilight of our lives.”
Bulls Legend Uses Teammate’s Death to Remind Life is Short
Grant used King’s death to remind the public that life is short. He has been thinking of his close teammate and friend. He still talks to Pippen regularly. He hopes that Pippen and Jordan will squash their beef and become friends again. Jordan recently ended a long-running feud with NBA legend Charles Barkley, so there’s hope.
Grant bluntly stated, “What is beef anyway? Somebody says something negative about you. You respond. And then, let it go. That’s the way I see life. If somebody says something negative that’s not true, then you respond, and it’s over with. Let’s go to dinner. Let’s have a cocktail. Life is so short. If anyone looks at the situation with my friend Stacey, my brother, it should come to mind.”
When asked how Jordan and Pippen would rekindle their friendship, Grant responded that there are people around both players who would intervene by having them sit down and hash things out. He added that he wouldn’t describe this as an “issue,” but “just messy,” signaling that pride could be a factor.

Horant’s sudden loss of his friend and teammate in King significantly affected him. Horant described his loss as one of the toughest things he has ever been through. He went through a lot growing up in the hood, the projects, and in Georgia. He added that he had the pleasure of knowing him throughout his career and after his retirement from the NBA in 2004.
Horant interviewed King before his passing. In his recent interview, he recalled that one of the producers came up and told him that this is why they give people their flowers before it’s their time. He added that this is a topic that his show touches on because one never knows when someone’s time comes, so they should give them their flowers when they get the chance.
