Caitlin Clark will join ESPN’s College GameDay as guest picker Saturday morning, marking her return to Iowa City. ESPN announced Friday that Clark will make her picks alongside Nick Saban, Pat McAfee and Kirk Herbstreit ahead of the No. 14 Hawkeyes’ Big Ten opener against No. 6 Ohio State.

GameDay broadcasts live from the University of Iowa at 9 a.m. ET Saturday, with the game kicking off at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The appearance comes one day after the Fever fell to the defending champion Las Vegas Aces in Game 3 of the first round, according to USA Today. Clark scored a team-high 27 points in Indiana’s elimination game Thursday night.

Caitlin Clark’s Iowa legacy

Clark led Iowa women’s basketball across four seasons to three Big Ten titles and two Final Four appearances. In her senior season, she became Division I’s all-time scoring leader with 3,951 points. She was a three-time first-team Associated Press All-American from 2022 to 2024 and a two-time consensus national player of the year in 2023 and 2024, per Bleacher Report.

ESPN last visited Iowa City in 2006, when Ohio State was ranked No. 1 and won 38-17. Ohio State also won the other GameDay appearance in Iowa City in 1996. This marks the show’s first trip to Iowa in two decades and third overall.

Clark’s 2026 WNBA season

Clark finished her third professional season averaging 22.3 points and 8.3 assists, both career highs. She ranked third in the league in scoring and second in assists. The Fever went 28-16 in the regular season but could not advance past the defending champion Aces.

Thursday’s GameDay appearance comes a day after Clark launched her first signature shoe, the Nike Caitlin 1, with Iowa women’s basketball team members receiving pairs.

What’s next

Clark will join the GameDay crew for picks just before the show closes at noon ET. The Hawkeyes face Ohio State at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Kinnick Stadium.
