Caitlin Clark shoe a huge success, nearly gone in 2 hours
Two colorways, a $140 price tag and two hours: that is about how long it took Caitlin Clark’s first signature Nike shoe to nearly sell out after it went on sale Thursday, Oct. 1, Yahoo Sports reported. The Caitlin Clark shoe, called the Caitlin 1, launched at 10 a.m. ET in Caitlin Blue and Warning Code yellow.
Within minutes, most sizes of the Caitlin Clark shoe were gone, according to USA Today. By the afternoon, only a few sizes remained on Nike’s website, and the shoe was sold out at Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Hibbett while still available at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Yahoo reported.
Caitlin Clark shoe: price, colors and what launched with it
- Name: Caitlin 1
- Price: $140
- Launch colorways: Caitlin Blue and Warning Code (yellow)
- Apparel: An 18-piece performance and sportswear collection, per USA Today
- Kids’ sizes: Listed as “coming soon,” per Yahoo
Clark has shown other colorways of the Caitlin Clark shoe on Instagram, but none had release dates as of Thursday, USA Today noted. On how Nike handles big drops, the outlet said the company may use a draw on its SNKRS app or Nike.com to manage traffic.
From Kobe player editions to a shoe of her own
Before the Caitlin 1, Clark’s Nike releases were built on Kobe Bryant models, including a Kobe 5 Protro edition tied to her Rookie of the Year season, and those sold out quickly, too. Nike unveiled her “CC” signature logo in August 2025, as Total Apex Sports reported at the time.
Clark signed an eight-year, $28 million deal with Nike in 2024 that was negotiated to include a signature shoe, Yahoo noted. She is now in her third WNBA season.
“A lot of thought and time has gone into this shoe,” Clark said in Nike’s announcement. “I never thought I would have my own signature shoe, and now that I do, it’s pretty special.” She also described the design this way: “The Caitlin 1 reflects how I play: fast, confident, and ready to let it fly.”
Resale prices and a big night in Las Vegas
On the secondary market, the Caitlin Clark shoe was listed on eBay for $200 to $300 on launch day, according to Yahoo. The release landed in a strong year for the league: the WNBA drew its best regular-season viewership since 2000.
It also came on the day Clark and the Indiana Fever played the defending champion Las Vegas Aces in a decisive Game 3 of their first-round series in Las Vegas. Total Apex Sports previewed that matchup in Fever vs. Aces Game 3. More on Nike’s launch is on Nike’s Caitlin 1 page.
