BYU Men’s Basketball Makes History In 88-85 Win

BYU

The No. 23 BYU Cougars made history in their 88-85 win over No. 10 Iowa State last night. BYU committed a whopping 29 turnovers in the game. They were the first team to have 29+ turnovers against an AP Top 25 opponent and still win the game since Iowa had 31 turnovers in a win at No. 10 Kansas on December 8, 1998. The Cougars are one of the hottest teams in the country as they have won seven consecutive contests. Will the team be able to keep up their high level of play with postseason play right around the corner?

BYU Men’s Basketball Season Summary

It has been a solid season for the Cougars. They are 22-8 and in fourth place in the Big 12. BYU has been powered by its offense this season. They are 29th in points per game, 20th in field goal percentage, and 27th in three-point percentage. The team’s defense has been the far weaker part of the squad. They are 131st in points allowed, 120th in opposing field goal percentage, and 254th in opposing three-point percentage.

Final Thoughts

BYU finishes the regular season on Saturday when they host the Utah Utes. The Cougars will look to have success in the Big 12 Tournament before turning their attention toward the 2025 NCAA Tournament. With an offense that has been so good this season, no team will want to face them this month.
