Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver Zay Flowers made history earlier today when he was selected for the Pro Bowl Games. He is the wide receiver in Ravens franchise history to make the Pro Bowl. Flowers has had a stellar regular season with 73 receptions, 1,047 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns. He joins Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Houston Wide Receiver Nico Collins, and Cleveland Wide Receiver Jerry Jeudy as the AFC’s other representatives at the position.
Flowers was drafted No. 22 by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Boston College and has been the team’s best wide receiver since he arrived in the “Charm City.” He finished sixth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting last season and parlayed it into a Pro Bowl selection in his sophomore season. Will Flowers be able to play well in the NFL Playoffs as the Baltimore Ravens eye a deep playoff run?
Baltimore Ravens Season Summary
Baltimore(11-5) leads the AFC North heading into the season’s final week. The Ravens have been paced by a great offense this season. They led the league in yards per game and are third in points per game. Quarterback Lamar Jackson is having another MVP-caliber season but is expected to come in second to Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen for the prestigious award.
The Ravens defense has also been rounding into form down the homestretch of the regular season. They are 14th in yards allowed and 13th in points allowed. Baltimore is on a three-game winning streak and their defense has averaged 11 points allowed over that stretch. This a promising trend for a Baltimore Ravens defense that was poor in the first half of the season.
Final Thoughts
The Baltimore Ravens need to defeat the Cleveland Browns at home on Saturday to lock up the division. That would lock them into the No. 3 seed in the AFC. Baltimore needs Flowers to play well in Week 18 and the NFL Playoffs for the team to reach its full potential.
