Former Boise State Running Back Ashton Jeanty is not shy about what he believes he can do for the team that drafts him next week in the 2025 NFL Draft. He believes he can be the next Saquon Barkley in the NFL: “If you pick me, it’s simple: I’m coming to your franchise to do what Saquon and the Eagles just did. I’m coming to win, big, soon.”
Both men are coming off historic seasons. Jeanty nearly broke the all-time rushing record set by Barry Sanders in college. Barkley just missed breaking Eric Dickerson’s all-time NFL rushing record. Which team will draft Jeanty next week?

The star running back is No. 1 at his position and the No. 5 overall player in the 2025 NFL Draft according to ESPN. Jeanty is one of the cleanest prospects in the 2025 class. While nearly all the teams would be better with him on their team, a few teams would be especially good fits for Jeanty.
He has been linked to the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 6 overall for much of the pre-draft process. New Head Coach Pete Carroll loves to run the ball, and the back would fit that mold wonderfully. The Raiders also had the NFL’s worst rushing attack in 2024 by a wide margin. They have a clear hole at the running back position. Another possible landing spot for Jeanty is the Dallas Cowboys at No. 10. The Cowboys also had a poor rushing attack in 2024 that would improve by drafting the running back.

Jeanty is understandably confident about the impact he will have in the NFL. He will also be helped by the resurgence of the running back position.
