The New York Jets reportedly granted veteran Wide Receiver Allen Lazard permission to seek a trade this offseason. New York is also open to bringing the wide receiver back to the squad for the 2025 season if a trade does not materialize. He is coming off a mediocre regular season with 37 receptions, 530 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns.
Lazard came to the New York Jets during the 2023 NFL Offseason as a package deal with Quarterback Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers. With Rodgers and Wide Receiver Davante Adams on their way out of New York, Lazard could be leaving town as well. How will the situation between the franchise and the veteran wide receiver resolve itself?

The veteran wide receiver will have a sizable market this offseason whether he remains with the New York Jets or not. Lazard has been a solid receiver for the last six seasons. He will presumably look to latch onto a Super Bowl contender this offseason. It is also unclear if he would like to reunite with Rodgers if the future Hall of Famer decides to play next season.
Final Thoughts
Part of the reporting surrounding Lazard said the Jets are not opposed to bringing him back to the team. The receiver must also be willing to play for a team with uncertainty at the quarterback position, and one that will be undergoing a complete rebuild. The NFL world will watch the situation surrounding the veteran wide receiver closely this offseason.
