Boswell’s 39-yard field goal with 14 seconds left in the third quarter capped Pittsburgh’s scoring surge across the second and third quarters. Pittsburgh opened the scoring with a 28-yard Boswell field goal with 10:51 left in the first quarter. New Orleans answered in the second quarter with a 38-yard Daniel Carlson field goal to tie it at 3-3.

Rodgers then hit tight end Darnell Washington for a 4-yard touchdown to put the Steelers up 10-3 with 6:45 left in the half. Shough answered right back, finding Devaughn Vele for a 1-yard score with 1:45 remaining to tie the game at 10-10. He added the 39-yarder early in the third quarter for the final margin, and neither team scored in the fourth.

Pittsburgh safety Payton Wilson intercepted Shough for 18 yards, the only turnover of the game. The Saints converted two of two fourth-down attempts but finished just 1-of-3 in the red zone, a key factor in a game decided by six points.
