Heiskanen answered just before the midpoint of the period, beating Wedgewood with a wrist shot off assists from Mikko Rantanen and Thomas Harley to make it 1-1 heading to the third.

Hyry put Dallas ahead 1:20 into the third on a short-handed goal, picking off a Cale Makar pass and outracing him to the net, according to NHL.com. Nelson tied it back up at 8:21 after the puck deflected off Dallas defenseman Harley, setting up extra time. Hyry nearly ended it in overtime but rang a bouncing puck off the post.
