How Toronto has started

The Maple Leafs lost their opener 3-2 to Montreal on Tuesday, Sept. 29. William Nylander scored twice, and Sergei Bobrovsky made 21 saves in his Toronto debut, NHL.com reported.

Toronto bounced back with a 2-1 win over the New York Islanders on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Colton Sissons and Easton Cowan scored, and Anthony Stolarz stopped 26 shots for coach Jim Hiller’s first win with the team. What Ottawa brings to the matchup

The Senators are 0-0-0 and begin their season on the road. Linus Ullmark is the projected starter for Ottawa, according to The Spread. Defenseman Jake Sanderson is expected to play, while defenseman Artem Zub remains out with a knee injury.

Key matchup to watch

Ottawa’s first test is Toronto’s goaltending. The Maple Leafs have used two different goalies in two games, and the team had not confirmed its Saturday starter at the time of writing. Ottawa will try to start fast against a Toronto team that has scored two or more goals in both games.
