The Ottawa Senators beat the Utah Mammoth 4-2 on Saturday, breaking a 1-1 tie with three third-period goals at Canadian Tire Centre. Michael Amadio scored the go-ahead goal and added an assist, finishing with two points.

Shane Pinto sealed it with an empty-net wrist shot at 19:44 of the third period, capping a four-minute stretch in which Ottawa scored three times. Utah’s Clayton Keller tied the game 1-1 in the first period and later set up Barrett Hayton’s tying tip-in, finishing with two points but watching his team fall short once Ottawa’s third-period push took hold.

Key Moments: How The Senators Pulled Away

Fabian Zetterlund opened the scoring 5:27 into the first period on a wrist shot assisted by Stephen Halliday and Philip Tomasino. Keller answered just over four minutes later, scoring off a feed from Anders Lee to tie it 1-1 heading into the second period, which produced no goals from either side.

The third period flipped the game. Amadio put Ottawa ahead 2-1 at 6:29 on a wrist shot set up by Claude Giroux and Tyler Kleven. Hayton tied it back up for Utah at 9:53, tipping in a Keller feed.

But Ottawa answered twice more in the final three minutes. Nick Cousins tipped in a Thomas Chabot pass at 17:42 to make it 3-2, and Pinto added the empty-net insurance goal with 16 seconds left on the clock off a Tim Stützle feed.
