Copp’s winner came on a play started by Nate Danielson, who won a puck battle in the offensive zone and fed Michael Rasmussen behind the net. Rasmussen slid the puck through the crease and Copp finished from the doorstep. Matvei Michkov had given Philadelphia an early lead, and Anton Johansson tied it in the second period before Copp’s goal settled things. Daniil Tarasov stopped 17 of 18 shots for Detroit, while Joseph Woll made 24 saves in the loss.

Johansson became the third Red Wings player to score a first career goal in October 2026, joining Michael Brandsegg-Nygard and William Wallinder.

Philadelphia nearly regained the lead late in the second period on a short-handed 2-on-1 chance from Noah Cates, but Tarasov stopped the shot with 21 seconds left in the period. Copp’s go-ahead goal then arrived in the third, and the Flyers had one more look at tying it when Oliver Bonk fired a shot from 10 feet out with eight seconds remaining in regulation. The shot went wide, preserving Detroit’s win.
