As the 2024 NFL season descends into Week 4, the NFC East is proving to be one very exciting race. Since being division champions last season, Dallas has gotten off to a poor start and the heat is on them. However, the Philadelphia Eagles are battling very well to hold on, and have had their share of battles. Now let’s dissect how each team stacks up as we head into this critical week.

New York Giants

Last Sunday, the New York Giants got a much-needed win against the Cleveland Browns. And it is now a certainty that they will not finish the season with zero wins. Quarterback Daniel Jones was spectacular, bringing some finesse to his expensive purse. The team is starting to look like a solid unit, thanks to Malik Nabers on offense. If they can carry this momentum into the game against the Cowboys, they may just catch everyone off guard.

 Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys haven’t had their best the last few weeks, and it’s clear they’re not doing anything at the level that fans have been used to. While the Dallas Cowboys have developed Brandon Aubrey as a top kicker, more than one ingredient is needed to win games. The Ravens defeat last week disappointed fans and made all wonder which direction this team is headed in.

A battle against the Giants on Thursday may flip the script for them. Traditionally, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to have plenty of opportunities coming their way if they can improve. There is pressure on the shoulders of Dak Prescott and his team to turn things around and prove that they are still a force to be reckoned with.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are proving their offensive firepower this season. Quarterback Jayden Daniels can become a showman in a relatively short period, thanks to his two threats. With Ekeler and Brian Robinson leading their running, it’s tough for any defense. If their offensive line can hold up and keep Daniels healthy, the Commanders could be a dark horse in the division. They sit at 2-1, so if they can continue playing this well, there’s much reason to believe they can ascend even higher in the rankings. Exciting times are ahead for the fans.

 Philadelphia Eagles

Since the season is merely in its infancy, the current top dog of the NFC East is looking like the Philadelphia Eagles. But their top ranking is hardly set in stone. They are sitting at 2-1 yet somehow manage to maintain a lead, though performances haven’t exactly sparkled. Jalen Hurts’ failure to get into a groove is worrisome. This is terrifying for a team whose expectations are sky high. It has, however, been coupled by key plays that seem to produce when it matters most. The Eagles need to tighten their game if they want to maintain their lead within the division.

Conclusion

Every team heads into Week 4 with its own set of issues. The Giants want to sustain their momentum from last week; the Cowboys need to find some traction and get back on course; and the Commanders will be wanting to prove they are a legitimate contender. The Eagles have to play better than they have thus far in the 2024 season. Already the season has some interesting promises; it is going to be a roller coaster ride for the fans.
