New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was listed as out of practice Wednesday with a sore knee, according to Yahoo Sports. Nabers did not participate in the Giants’ first practice of the week as the team prepares to face the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Nabers told reporters he’s a “little sore” but declined to specify which body part was affected, according to SNY. The team’s injury report later revealed the issue was his knee. He added that he did “as much as I could” during the portions of practice he took part in.
Malik Nabers Injury: What The Team Is Saying
The Giants’ injury report listed Nabers’ knee as the reason for the absence. He offered no firm answer on his availability for Sunday’s game. “See how the week goes,” Nabers said when asked about his chances of playing at Washington, according to CBS Sports.
No further practice designation has been issued beyond Wednesday’s report, and the Giants have not released a timeline for when Nabers might return to full participation.
Nabers’ Season Numbers
Nabers has caught 18 passes for 208 yards and one touchdown on 26 targets through four games this season, according to CBS Sports. He is working with his second starting quarterback of the campaign, Jameis Winston, after the Giants made a change at the position earlier this year.
What’s Next
The Giants face the Commanders on Sunday. Nabers is expected to participate in the remainder of the week’s practices, and further updates on his status should arrive with the team’s practice reports Thursday and Friday.
