Islanders lose to the Stars 6-3. Dallas is one of the best teams in the National Hockey League. The Islanders were shorthanded without Mat Barzal; Matias Maccelli and Callum Ritchie did not even make the road trip. The Islanders have been playing well of late, with a 5-game point-scoring streak. It seems the defensive system put in place by head coach Peter DeBoer is working. However, the team may have been missing too much firepower in this game.
Playing for Dallas is Mikko Rantanen, who placed a dirty hit on Aleksander Romanov last season. Ironically, Romanov is out for this entire season with a torn ACL. With him and the other three out. One has to wonder where the scoring is going to come from. There is a lot of pressure on Bo Horvat; the team is relying on the new captain to score for them. So far he has, but he must continue with this. Where do you think the Islanders will get scoring from?
Islanders Lose to the Stars Game Summary October 25

The Islanders came into this game hot, scoring points in their last five games. They were hoping to steal a point in Dallas. But they were not able to, as the Islanders lose to the Stars. Dallas has won their last four games, so they came into this game hot too. The Islanders relied on a strong start from star goaltender Ilya Sorokin. Here is how the game played out.
In the first period, the Islanders did well to withstand an early Stars rush and draw a penalty. However, the Stars scored first with Tyler Seguin giving them a 1-0 lead. Matthew Schafer scored for the Islanders to tie the score at 1. About a minute later, Jason Robertson scored for Dallas, giving them a 2-1 lead. That is how the first period ended. Exactly the kind of low-scoring game we thought we were going to get. The Islanders needed goaltender Ilya Sorokin to stand on his head in this game. He is certainly capable of that; however, giving up two goals in the first period meant he did not get off to a good start.
In the second period, in the second period the Islanders tied the score at 2 when Kyle Palmeri scored. It was surprising that the Islanders were tied at this point. Ryan Pulock got his first point of the season with the primary assist on this goal. It certainly did not look at this time that the Islanders would lose to the Stars. Then, Justin Hryckowian scored a power play goal for the Dallas Stars, giving them a 3-2 lead. At the end of the second peroid Brayden Schenn scored for the Islanders at 3. This was the first time this seadon that the Stars played a game where both teams scored thee goals this season
In the third period, Wyatt Johnston scored as he was left wide open in the high slot. The Stars lead 4-3. It was at this oint when we thought the it was possible that the Islanders lose to the Stars. Good Goaltending
This game, where the Islanders lose to the Stars, featured an awesome goaltending matchup. Ilya Sorokin started the game for the Islanders. He came into this game with a 5-2 record. He had a microscopic 1.72 goals-against average and a 93.4% save percentage. These numbers are sparkling, and he was hurt by the team being in Dallas, where the Islanders lose to the Stars.
Sorokin started against a goaltender with even better statistics. Jake Ottinger has started the season very hot. He is benefiting from the Dallas Stars having a good defense. He came into this game with a 5-2-1 record. He had a sparkling 1.23 goals-against average. He also sported a .939 save percentage. Conclusion: A Former Head Coach
Islanders’ new head coach, Peter DeBoer, coached the Dallas Stars for three seasons. He was fired after the team lost to the Edmonton Oilers. This was the first time he was back in Dallas. Unfortunately, his return saw the Islanders lose to the Stars. They faced a good team that has good defense and good goaltending. Last season, though they have not scored much this year, the Stars had two players score forty-five goals.
