Harry Kane agreed a new Bayern Munich contract in principle through 2029, Sky Sports reported.
What It Means For Kane And Bayern
The extension through 2029 keeps Kane at Bayern into his mid-30s. He has scored 154 goals in 156 matches for Bayern since arriving from Tottenham in 2023. He reached 100 Bundesliga goals in 98 games, 31 faster than the previous record set by Dieter Muller.
Kane’s Production Since Joining Bayern
Kane’s numbers at Bayern have been difficult to match anywhere in Europe. He has won two Bundesliga titles, with the first in 2025 marking his first major trophy after years without silverware in England. He has also added the German Cup and German Super Cup during his time at the club.
Individually, Kane has claimed the European Golden Shoe twice in his three Bayern seasons and the Bundesliga Golden Boot in each of those campaigns. Last season was his most prolific yet, with 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches and 14 in 13 Champions League appearances. He finished with 73 goals for club and country combined, including the World Cup, and added 12 for England that included six at the tournament.
Kane has also carried that form into his role as England captain. He led the team to the Euro 2024 final and to the nation’s best World Cup finish since 1966. Earlier this month he equalled Peter Shilton’s England appearance record, earning his 125th cap.
What’s Next
No timeline has been reported for when Kane will officially sign or announce the contract, according to Sky Sports. Kane’s next competitive action will come in next month’s UEFA Nations League matches for England.
